Danielle Lemek of Doniphan earned an 8 and 7 win against McKenzie O'Connell of Sidney in the Nebraska Girls Match Play Championship on Thursday at Stone Creek Golf Course in Omaha.

Lemek birdied the first hole, a par 4, to take an early lead. Back-to-back birdies on Nos. 6 (par 5) and 7 (par 4) allowed Lemek to go 5 up. She pared the next three holes to take commanding lead while O'Connell settled for bogies.
In the Nebraska Boys Match Play Championship, Fremont's John Spellerberg will take on Andy Sajevic, also of Fremont, in Friday's final at The Pines Country Club in Valley. Spellerberg defeated Conner Lyons of Hastings 4 and 2, while Sajevic defeated Connor Lindahl of Omaha 4 and 3.
Spellerberg was down two holes through five and didn't take the advantage until a birdie on No. 13. Birdies on Nos. 14 and 15 (both par 4s) gave Spellerberg a comfortable lead.
Sajevic birdied Nos. 9, 10 and 11 to go 4 up against Lindahl.
