Boys

Ryan Busboom, Freeman

6-0, 190, sr. (Barton County CC, baseball)

Football - Class D-1 all-stater rushed for 745 yards and was 45-for-83 passing for 677 yards and 28 TDs; also played linebacker and had 53 solo tackles and 71 assists.

Basketball - Class C-2 all-state, averaging 15.9 points and 5.3 rebounds for state runner-up.

Track - Qualified for state in the shot put.

Justin Coleman, Beatrice

6-0, 175, sr. (UNO, football)

Football - Rushed for 1,324 yards and passed for another 754, accounting for 30 touchdowns in earning all-state honors and second-team Super-State.

Baseball - All-state outfielder hit .450 with 35 runs scored, 23 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.

Logan Ehlers, Nebraska City

6-1, 180, jr. (Nebraska, baseball)

Football - Caught 34 passes for 612 yards, punted 44 times for a 35.4-yard average and led the Pioneers with 3 interceptions.

Basketball - Averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds to lead his team.

Baseball - First-team Super-State for the second year and honorary co-captain, was 10-0 with 3 saves, a 0.20 ERA, 161 strikeouts in 682/3 innings, four no-hitters and a perfect game; hit .329 with 22 RBIs.

Tyler Evans, Waverly

6-2, 180, jr. (Undecided)

Football - Second-team Super-State and Class B all-stater rushed for 897 yards and 14 TDs, was 14-for-34 passing for 236 yards, had 24 solo tackles, 11 assists and 8 interceptions.

Basketball - Second-team Super-State and Class B all-state pick averaged 19.7 points to lead Class B and set school single-season record with 454 points.

Track - Won the Class B 100, finished sixth in the 200 and ran on the Vikings' second-place 400 relay.

Isiah Gandy, Boys Town

6-2, 178, sr. (Des Moines Area CC,

basketball)

Football - C-1 all-stater threw for 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns, connecting on 63 percent of his passes for the state runner-up.

Basketball - Class C-1 all-state for second time, averaging 19.5 points and 7.1 rebounds and set school record with 1,308 career points.

Track - Second in the Class B triple jump.

Porter Groves, L. Northeast

5-7, 145, sr. (NW Missouri State, track)

Football - All-city defensive back had 3 sacks and forced a fumble, also rushed for 267 yards and scored 5 TDs.

Wrestling - Was 37-6 at 130 pounds, finishing third at state.

Track - Won all-class Gold in the triple jump, moving into fourth on the all-time chart with a leap of 48-9ΒΌ.

Austin Kaczor, Ewing

6-5, 210, jr. (Undecided)

Football - D-2 all-state receiver caught 52 passes for 1,087 yards and 19 TDs, had 51 solo tackles, 62 assists and 8 interceptions for state champ.

Basketball -Second-team Super-State and D-2 all-state for second year, scored a school-record 707 points, averaging a state-best 28.3 points; also had 10.7 rebounds a game.

Brett Kaczor, Ewing

5-10, 195, sr. (Nebraska Wesleyan, football)

Football - D-2 all-state quarterback, rushed for 1,209 yards and 27 TDS, completed 102 of 146 passes for 1,707 yards and 26 TDs with only 2 interceptions; led defense with 60 solo tackles and 118 assists.

Basketball - Second-team all-state for second time, averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Golf - Finished 7th in Class D.

Michael Klinginsmith,

Kearney Catholic 5-9, 175, sr. (Nebraska, wrestling)

Football - C-2 all-state defensive lineman also played quarterback.

Wrestling - Won third straight state title after finishing third as a freshman and set the Class C record with 168 career wins.

Track -Threw the discus after being a 3-year starter in soccer.

Michel Mikaya, North Star

5-9, 175, sr. (Wayne State, football)

Football - Second-team Super-State running back rushed for 1,040 yards (8.5 yards per carry) and had 2 interceptions.

Basketball - A tenacious defender, Mikaya averaged 12.9 points, 5.9 assists and 2.1 steals.

Soccer -First-team Super-Stater scored in 9 of 16 matches and had 14 goals.

Tyler Niederklein, Millard West

6-2, 190, sr. (Nebraska, baseball)

Football - Switched from quarterback to wide receiver and helped lead Wildcats to Class A title; caught 33 passes for 629 yards and 5 TDs.

Baseball - Was 5-2 with 2.35 ERA, striking out 53 in 51 innings. Opponents hit just .231 off Niederklein, who offensively batted .304 with 24 runs scored.

Cole Pensick, L. Northeast

6-2, 250, sr. (Nebraska, football)

Football - First-team Super-State offensive lineman for the second time, he was second-team Super-State as a sophomore.

Track - Finished second in the Class A shot put after an injury slowed him all spring; was the all-class Gold medalist as a junior.

Girls

Marissa Bongers, East Butler

5-9, jr. (Undecided)

Cross country - Finished 14th and led team to fourth-place finish in Class D.

Basketball - First-team C-2 all-stater averaged 25.6 points and 6.5 rebounds. Scored 46 points in a game.

Track - Won all-class Gold in 800 (2:15.16) and finished fourth in Class C 1,600.

Natalie Braun, Pius X

5-8, sr. (Furman, volleyball)

Volleyball - First-team Super-Stater had a school-record 457 kills (.367 hitting) for three-time Class B champion. Also had 334 digs and 56 ace serves.

Basketball - Second-team all-state after leading Bolts to Class B final. Averaged 13.9 points and 4.6 rebounds.

Paige Frauendorfer, Humphrey

6-0, sr. (UNO, basketball)

Volleyball - First-team D-1 all-stater had 494 kills, 68 ace blocks, 39 ace serves and 253 digs.

Basketball - Repeat all-stater averaged 18.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, five steals and two blocks for D-1 semifinalist.

Track - Won D long jump for third straight year (17-3/4) and was on 1,600 relay that finished second.

McKenzie Fujan, B. Neumann

5-10, jr. (Undecided)

Volleyball - Honorable mention all-stater had 158 kills, 64 ace blocks and 249 digs.

Basketball - Division I prospect led Neumann to the C-1 title, averaging 13.5 points. Shot 46 percent on three-pointers and 76 percent from the line.

Track - Won third straight Class B title in 300 low hurdles (:45.52) and took third in the 100 high hurdles.

Jordan Hooper, Alliance

6-3, jr. (Nebraska, basketball)

Volleyball - Smacked 264 kills (.432 hitting), with 84 ace blocks and 36 aces in earning second-team all-state and third-team Super-State.

Basketball - Two-time first-team Super-Stater averaged 23.4 points, 14.2 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 4.6 blocks. Had 34 points, 18 rebounds and 13 blocked shots in third-place win at state.

Track - Took fourth in Class B long jump (17-3) and fifth in 200 (:26.49).

Paige Hubl, L. Southeast

5-7, sr. (Nebraska, volleyball)

Volleyball - A top libero (position she'll walk on to play at NU), Hubl was a first-team all-stater and second-team Super-Stater after registering 370 digs and 60 aces.

Basketball - Four-year starter averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds for the state runner-up.

Soccer - Second-team Super-State defender and first-team all-stater for Knights, who allowed just four goals all season.

Alyssa Kamphaus, Seward

6-4, jr. (Creighton, basketball)

Volleyball - Right-side starter had 72 ace blocks for Bluejays, state qualifiers for first time in 15 years.

Basketball - One of the state's strongest post players, Kamphaus led unbeaten Seward to Class B title. First-team all-stater and second-team Super-Stater averaged 13 points and nine rebounds.

Track - Won all-class Gold in the shot put (46-21/2).

Maggie Maher, Kearney

5-9, sr. (Nebraska, track)

Volleyball - Honorable mention all-stater led Bearcats in both kills and assists as a setter/hitter.

Basketball - Guard earned honorable mention all-state honors after averaging 13.5 points and 3.3 rebounds.

Track - Won her third straight state title in the pole vault. Her 12-2 vault this season is fourth on all-time chart.

Anne Martin, Waverly

5-10, sr. (Nebraska, track)

Volleyball - Second-team all-stater recorded 339 kills (.345 hitting), 123 ace blocks and 45 ace serves.

Basketball - Second-team all-stater averaged 17 points and just less than 10 rebounds.

Track - Won Class B high jump (5-7), long jump (18-83/4) and 100 (:12.45) and took second in the triple jump. Is seventh all-time in the triple jump with her 38-11 mark this season.

Sarah Nelson, Omaha Westside

6-1, jr. (Undecided)

Basketball - Nebraska recruiting target averaged 17.8 points and 9.8 rebounds, hit 55 percent from the field and 76 percent from the line.

Soccer - First-team Super-State defender scored seven goals and had five assists.

Heather Thorson, Mead

6-3, sr. (Creighton, volleyball)

Volleyball - First-team all-stater had 322 kills, 85 ace blocks and 228 digs.

Basketball - Led D-1 in scoring (24 points per game), and averaged 12.4 rebounds while earning first-team all-state honors.

Haley Thramer, Ewing

6-2, sr. (Nebraska, volleyball)

Volleyball - First-team Super-Stater hit .515 with 477 kills and 110 ace blocks for D-2 champ. A reliable back-row player, too, with 138 digs and 98 service aces.

Basketball - Tigers won their third straight D-2 title as Thramer averaged a double-double - 13.1 points and 11.4 rebounds.

Track - Finished eighth in the high jump.
