Kadie and Amber Rolfzen
Papillion - La Vista South
Height - 6-2
Year - Freshmen
College choice - Orally committed to Nebraska
Facts and figures - The twins not only look alike, the outside hitters also play alike. That was evidenced by their kill statistics for the season, as Amber (right) pounded 444 kills (.300 hitting efficiency) and Kadie ripped 443 (.310 hitting efficiency). They each had 251 digs going into state (Kadie did not play back row at state because of a knee infection). Their ability to terminate at the net like college players and ever-growing all-around skill base make them the most influential freshmen ever to play high school volleyball in the state, leading the Titans to a 36-5 record and a Class A runner-up state finish.
Coach's quote - "They're both extremely talented and both have a feel for the game you don't find in players that young. They love the game. They have some big goals they want to achieve and they're willing to work hard to try to reach them." - Papillion-La Vista South coach Gwen Egbert.
Tenisha Matlock
North Platte

Height - 6-3
Year - Senior
College choice - Signed with Iowa State.
Facts and figures - The explosive middle blocker can reach 10 feet, 4 inches on her attack, one of the reasons Matlock became unstoppable at the net the second half of the season as she led the Bulldogs to the Class A state tournament. Matlock finished with 511 kills, a .401 hitting efficiency and 95 ace blocks. In North Platte's win against Bellevue East in the district final, she had 28 kills and nine ace blocks. Matlock unloaded for 38 kills in a five-set win against Class B state qualifier Ogallala in October. The three-sport athlete is a standout basketball player and a medalist in the high jump and 100-meter high hurdles at the state track meet.
Coach's quote - "I thought Tenisha did a great job all season. We just did a better job as a team getting her the ball late in the season, that's why she stood out so much more in the second half. She has the potential to be a tremendous college player. She's a diamond in the rough just waiting to be polished." - North Platte coach Laura Miller.
Emily Wilson
Omaha Gross

Height - 6-2
Year - Junior
College choice - Orally committed to Missouri.
Facts and figures - The Gross student body called Wilson "the hammer" at the state tournament, an accurate description of the younger sister of Catie Wilson, currently a starter at Missouri and former first-team Super-Stater. Emily was a driving force in the Cougars' run to the Class B title, with 349 kills (.337 hitting efficiency), 41 ace blocks and 121 digs. She's one of the most versatile net players in the state, with the ability to play all three positions.
Coach's quote - "When Emily got a great set, she'd put the ball away in dramatic fashion. She can hit over any block in the state, whether it's short down the line or cross-court. She lives and dies for volleyball and spends a lot of time on the court and in the weight room trying to get better. I'm glad I have her for another year." - Omaha Gross coach Korrine Schuster.
Chelsea Albers
Papillion-La Vista

Height - 6-1
Year - Junior
College choice - Undecided, considering Kansas, Iowa State and Creighton
Facts and figures - Albers successfully made the switch from middle blocker to outside hitter and developed into an all-around player. A faster and higher arm swing produced 496 kills and a .323 hitting efficiency, one of the main reasons the Monarchs qualified for the Class A state tournament. She also led the team in ace blocks with 56. Her improved back-row play was evident by her 342 digs. Albers is also a standout basketball player who averaged 15 points per game as a sophomore.
Coach's quote - "Chelsea got a lot better in every area of the game, not just at the net. Her passing became a lot more consistent and she started covering more court defensively, reading hitters and making a play on the ball. She's capable of playing middle (blocker) or outside at the next level, and college coaches are drooling over that." - Papillion-La Vista coach Kristen Lebeda-Svehla.
Julianne Mandolfo
Omaha Marian

Height - 5-7
Year - Senior
College choice - Signed with Creighton.
Facts and figures - The libero spearheaded a Marian defense that was the cornerstone of the Class A state championship team. Mandolfo verbally led the Crusaders from the back row and also paced the team with a team-high 549 digs and 55 ace serves, second on the squad. Her defense in the final three sets turned around the state championship match and allowed Marian to defeat Papillion-La Vista South in four sets. Mandolfo is also a goalkeeper in soccer and was recruited by colleges in that sport as well.
Coach's quote - "Julianne covered more than half the court in serve-receive and defense, and we learned to depend on that. Being a goalkeeper in soccer helped her side-to-side movement and hand-eye coordination. It's (libero-goalkeeper) a great combination because the skills carry over so much." - Marian coach Rochelle Rohlfs.

Lauren Sieckmann
Omaha Marian
Height - 5-10
Year - Sophomore
College choice - Orally committed to Nebraska
Facts and figures - Pulled off the rare double of leading Marian in both assists (660) and kills (330 with a .353 hitting efficiency). Also served 52 aces and had 197 digs.
