Nebraska recovered a fumble with 78 seconds left Saturday and held on to beat Kansas 20-12 in the Kansas vs. Nebraska Eight-Man All-Star Game in Hays, Kan.
The game was scoreless for the first 17 minutes before Cedar Bluffs' Brendon Jorgenson capped an 8-play, 55-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.
Nebraska scored again late in the first half. A 41-yard punt return by St. Mary's Cody Eiler gave Nebraska the ball at Kansas' 24-yard line. Ewing's Brett Kaczor ran in from a yard out for a 14-0 lead.
Kaczor earned Nebraska offensive MVP honors with 163 total yards, while Anselmo-Merna's Tyler Bartak picked up defensive honors.
Elgin's Andrew Bauer had 80 receiving yards.
