Trev's Take, 9/3

Trev Alberts, a former Nebraska All-American outside linebacker, is in his third season as a college football analyst for ESPN. The 34-year-old Alberts will share his thoughts on the Huskers before each game.

"In this game, Nebraska needs to just worry about itself. I don't mean that to be disparaging toward Western Illinois. Western Illinois is a talented, well-coached team. In fact, its talent might surprise you.

"But for Nebraska, in this particular game, it's more about execution than anything. If Nebraska does what Nebraska can do, the game will take care of itself. If you're consistently worried about what your opponent is going to do, it might impact your execution.

"I really think this is a huge confidence game for Nebraska. The coaches and players have said all the right things. They've worked their tails off. Dave Kennedy has done a great job conditioning the players. Now, it needs to be a game where the players walk off the field and say, ‘Hey, this really works.'"
