A Nebraska tight end with a previous drunken driving conviction was stopped again this weekend and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said Hunter Teafatiller was stopped at 1:16 a.m. Sunday for speeding on Interstate 180. He pulled over at 11th and Cornhusker, and was given a sobriety test, she said.

Collins said Teafatiller’s blood alcohol level was measured at 0.2. The legal limit in Nebraska is .08.

Teafatiller was lodged in Lancaster County Jail, she said.

He was arrested twice on suspicion of drunken driving within a three-month period in 2007. He was not prosecuted in the first case. He pleaded guilty in the second case, and was fined $400, sentenced to nine months probation and had his driver’s license impounded for 60 days.

In a prepared statement Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said he was "extremely disappointed" to learn of the latest charges. He also said he was aware of Teafatiller's previous record. "I have talked with Hunter and made him aware of the internal discipline he will face throughout the summer," Pelini said. "Further discipline regarding Hunter's playing status for the 2008 season will be determined as the case is resolved through the legal process."

Teafatiller, a senior, played in 11 games in 2007 and finished with four receptions for 34 yards. His best game came early in the season against Wake Forest, when he caught three passes for 21 yards. For his career, he has caught nine passes for 112 yards.
