A Lancaster County judge Monday set an Aug. 14 court date for former Nebraska football player Maurice Purify on allegations he violated his probation and was an inmate of a disorderly house.

Purify, 22, had been scheduled for a trial and a hearing Monday, but Judge James Foster agreed to the August date because a police officer involved in the case of the disorderly house was on vacation and would have been unavailable to testify Monday.

The trial would be on a ticket police gave Purify for failing to leave a party. He was also set for a hearing Monday on a suspected probation violation. Purify received probation last year on assault, disturbing the peace and hindering arrest and for DUI.

City prosecutors allege Purify violated probation when police ticketed him for being an inmate of a disorderly house. The ticket stemmed from a loud party in the 3100 block of Mickaela Lane March 8.

County prosecutors claim Purify violated probation because he was reportedly under the influence of alcohol while he was in California. Purify has denied he was drinking.
