They are the biggest names in college volleyball history.

Bev Oden.

Kerri Walsh.

Logan Tom.

And now, you can add Sarah Pavan’s name to that exclusive list.

On Wednesday, Pavan became only the fourth player in NCAA history to earn first-team All-American honors all four years of her career.

Pavan was one of five Huskers honored as All-Americans but was Nebraska’s only first-team selection based on voting by the AVCA All-American committee conducted this week.

Nebraska senior outside hitter Christina Houghtelling, senior middle blocker Tracy Stalls and sophomore setter Rachel Holloway were all named to the second team.

Junior outside hitter Jordan Larson was a third-team selection after being named to the first team a year ago.

The five players, among a total of 36 named to the three All-Americans teams, is a record for Nebraska, which leads all programs with 62 all-time honorees.

All players will be honored at the All-American Banquet on Friday in Sacramento, Calif., site of this week’s NCAA final four.

Pavan, last year’s national player of the year, will again be up for player-of-the-year honors that are voted on after tonight’s semifinal matches.

Pavan averaged 4.83 kills this season and posted career-high averages of 1.90 digs and 0.49 aces per game. Her .342 hitting percentage was nearly .30 points higher than her mark from a year ago.

The 12-player first team includes eight representatives from teams in tonight’s national semifinals, including three each from Stanford and Penn State.

Stanford players honored included senior setter Bryn Kehoe and juniors Foluke Akinradewo and Cynthia Barboza. The Cardinal will face USC tonight at 8. The Women of Troy are represented on the first team by senior Asia Kaczor.

The second semifinal pits Penn State against the California team that upset Nebraska in the Madison Regional final.

Cal’s Angie Pressey was named to the first team along with Penn State’s Nicole Fawcett, Christa Harmotto and Megan Hodge.

Rounding out the first team were Christal Morrison of Washington, Nellie Spicer of UCLA and national freshman of the year Juliann Faucette of Texas.
