Comments - Omaha Westside won 23 straight games during the season, then lost three in a seven-game stretch before righting the ship with a seven-game winning streak to end the season. Creighton Prep won 13 straight before losing to Westside twice in its last three games at state. Millard South lost to the finalists by a total of four runs in the tournament to claim the third spot. Lincoln Southwest beat Millard South earlier in the season but then lost to the Patriots twice in the postseason. Papio South lost to Millard South and Southwest at state. Millard West tumbles after losing its final three games. Omaha Bryan advances after making state and falling to Westside and Papio South. Columbus gave Prep a tussle in district play to move ahead of Lincoln Southeast, which lost to Omaha Northwest in district play.

Comments - Omaha Gross proved that its inconsistent spring wasn't the true Cougar team when it won four straight games to earn the state title. Lincoln Pius X won four games in three days but finally faltered in the state title game. Gretna moves in after beating Elkhorn in the first round at state, with the Antlers dropping to fourth. Omaha Skutt knocked Beatrice out before falling to Pius X.
