Nick Blasi hit a two-out infield single in the seventh inning to put the Wingnuts on top as Wichita took a 4-0 win over Lincoln at Haymarket Park on Sunday.
Pitching on short rest, Lincoln starter Jonathan Figueroa pitched three innings of shutout ball before getting pulled. Reliever Tim Brown didn't allow a run either in three innings of work before leaving after the sixth.
Wichita then rocked reliever Daryl Arreola in the eighth and scored three runs on three hits.
On Wichita's first run, Blasi was nearly thrown out at first. Saltdogs manager Marty Scott protested the call and was ejected.
The Saltdogs offense only had seven hits and couldn't convert with the bases loaded in the first.
Figueroa started for the second time in three days Sunday. He started Friday, but the game was suspended after three innings.
Josh Burrus stole his league-leading 22nd base of the season.
The Saltdogs start the second half of the American Association season at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sioux City.
