* HOCKEY: Former Lincoln Stars player and assistant coach Ryan Bencurik has been named an assistant coach for the Tri-City Storm. Bencurik is the only player in United States Hockey League history to win three Clark Cup titles with three different teams (Omaha, Des Moines, Lincoln).

* SWIMMING: Six Lincoln East swimmers earned National Interscholastic Swimming Association All-American status last week. The top 130 performances in each event from across the country were honored. Ryan Bubb earned honors in the 200 medley and freestyle relays, the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Bubb won both the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly at state en route to earning the male swimmer of the meet award. Nick Caruso, winner of the 100 backstroke at state last year, earned All-American status in the 200 medley relay. Ethan Ebito was an All-American in the 200 freestyle and medley relays, while Jackson Carter made it in the 200 medley relay. Piotr Slawinski and Jared Foehlich earned the honor in the 200 freestlye relay. Lilly Hinrichs of Lincoln Southeast also earned All-American honors in diving.

* TRACK: Former Nebraska athlete Angee Henry of Bellevue earned the national club championship in the women's 800 with a time of 2:07.05. In the men's 1,500, Matt Schneider of Nebraska City finished seventh (3:57.96), In the men's 800, Nick Suing and Evan Knight of Lincoln were fourth and fifth, respectively, competing for Team Brooks.
