HASTINGS— Officials at Hastings College are cleaning up in the wake of storms this week that uprooted trees and broke out windows on campus.
Officials say the campus’ science building, Steinhart Hall, suffered the most damage when high winds broke out a number of windows.
Also, nearly a dozen trees are down throughout the campus. One of those trees came crashing down on a campus building.
However, there was only one tree that landed on a building.
Sue Barrera with the school’s physical plant services says Hastings College had just finished repairs from a devastating hail storm in 2005 when this week’s storm hit. She says it’s like starting “all over again.”
The college said it is not sure how much damage was caused.
