OMAHA — About 2,000 Omaha power customers again have power after struggling with summer’s heat — which is being blamed for a power cable failure.
Omaha Public Power District crews spent Sunday evening restoring power to some eastern Omaha neighborhoods.
OPPD spokesman Jeff Hanson says the outages were caused by cable failure due to Sunday’s heat.
Crews restored power by 8 p.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for portions of south-central, east-central and southeast Nebraska, with temperatures Monday expected to reach 100 degrees.
