Some homeowners in the Sandhills will get their houses repaired with help from a $150,000 grant from the state.
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded the money to the Sandhills Resource Conservation and Development, a nonprofit group, to run a two-year housing rehabilitation program for eligible homeowners.
People in Arthur, Grant, Hooker, Logan, McPherson and Thomas counties are eligible.
The funding comes from the Nebraska Affordable Housing Program.
To be eligible, homeowners must have incomes at or below 80 percent of the median income in the area.
