OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha police are investigating a July Fourth shooting outside of a nightclub that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man.

Police say they were called to the El Dorado Club in southeast Omaha around 11:15 p.m. Saturday because of fireworks.

Officers encountered a large crowd when they arrived and found that Maxwell Griffy had been shot. Griffy was taken to Creighton University Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators spent several hours interviewing witnesses around the club, and at one point, they used a fire truck to search a nearby tree.
