SCOTTSBLUFF — The owner of Valley Airways says no one has taken a flight from Scottsbluff to Lincoln for more than two months.
The $600 round trip ticket combined with uncertainty about whether the flights will be canceled have hurt the venture.
Dick Bosn says high fuel prices means it costs him $1,500 to fuel the aircraft. He requires reservations from three passengers on the six-seat plane before he’ll fly.
Overall boardings at the Western Nebraska Regional Airport are up, and the airport authority hopes to reach the 10,000 passenger threshold needed to qualify for federal airport improvement funds.
