OMAHA — An Omaha man has been sentenced to five years in prison for robbing the same financial institution three times in a two-week span.
U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Bataillon on Friday also ordered 31-year-old Phillip Matthew Weber to serve three years’ probation and pay a $300 fine.
Weber pleaded guilty in May to bank robbery. He had faced up to 20 years in prison for each robbery.
A news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office says Weber made off with nearly $10,000 total from the Creighton Federal Credit Union after robbing the business on Feb. 5, 13 and 19. In all three robberies, Weber claimed to have a bomb.
