Disaster loans offered for Omaha-area storm victims

OMAHA — Some low-interest loans are available to business owners and other people whose homes or businesses in the Omaha area were damaged by the severe storms of June 26.

The Small Business Administration disaster declaration covers Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa.

An application center has been set up at the Millard Branch Library in Omaha.

The SBA says loans of up to $200,000 are available to repair or replace real estate, and loans of up to $40,000 are available to repair or replace personal property.

Businesses and private nonprofit organizations can borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory and other assets.
