KEARNEY — The Nebraska Cattlewomen will again host the Nebraska Beef Ambassador Contest this spring in Kearney.
The Senior category for ages 16 through 19 includes a three-part contest covering an issues response, a mock media interview and a consumer promotion activity. The winner will represent Nebraska at the National Beef Ambassador contest and will win $1,000. The first and second runners-up will get $600 and $400, respectively.
A junior category for those ages 12 through 15 can win prizes of $150, $100 and $50 for their winning 3-5 minute speeches.
Participants in the PeeWees category for ages 8-11 will present a 2-4 minute speech for a chance to win $75, $50 or $25.
The contest will be held April 11 at the Buffalo County Extension Office. Registration deadline is March 25.
