A 21-year-old man was killed when his pickup collided with a semi Monday afternoon in Butler County.

Andrew Muhle, a Schuyler native living in Omaha, was driving a 1989 Mazda pickup south on Nebraska 15 near the intersection with County Road 44 ½ at about 2:42 p.m. when the pickup crossed the center line and into the path of a northbound 2008 Kenworth semi driven by David Willeford, 60, of Stanton, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Muhle was pronounced dead at the scene. Willeford, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Alegent Health Memorial Hospital in Schuyler. It is not known whether Muhle was wearing a seat belt.

Alcohol is not suspected.
