OMAHA — Authorities say a four-hour standoff near Omaha ended peacefully after a man surrendered.

The Sarpy County sheriff’s office says the standoff started about 6 p.m. on Sunday at a house in a neighborhood southwest of the city. It began with a domestic quarrel between family members. Deputies say everyone except the man left the home.

Lt. Russ Zeeb says the situation escalated when the man made threats and barricaded himself inside the house. Zeeb says there were weapons inside the home.

The man surrendered about 10 p.m. He was taken into custody and no one was hurt.

Zeeb says the man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation. His name was not immediately released.
