A 22-year-old Alvo man died Friday afternoon after the van he was driving collided with an SUV driven by a woman with two boys as passengers.

A 1993 Dodge Caravan Grand  driven west by 22-year-old Justin L. Haase collided head-on with the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Nebraska 92 near Hamilton Street in Rising City, according to Butler County Sheriff Mark A. Hecker.

Haase was pronounced dead at the scene, after the Butler County Sheriff’s Office was called at 5:44 p.m. The Nebraska State Patrol is also investigating the crash.

Betty Anderson, the 49-year-old David City woman who drove the Trailblazer, was taken to Columbus Community Hospital and then flown to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Saturday evening, she was in fair condition.

Her two passengers, a 15-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy, were taken to Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Information on their conditions was unavailable Saturday evening.
