HASTINGS — Federal prosecutors say a Hastings woman stole about $52,000 from customer accounts while working as a bank teller.
A news release from the office of U.S. Attorney Joe Stecher says 40-year-old Angela Buhr was indicted on two counts, one alleging bank fraud, the other embezzlement.
Prosecutors say that from October 2004 through December last year Buhr took money from customer IRA accounts at Hastings State Bank and put it in her checking account.
Both charges carry a maximum of 30 years in prison and a fine of $1 million.
