Two Lincoln teenagers were arrested after authorities allegedly found stolen property in their vehicle.
Two Lincoln teenagers were arrested after authorities said they found stolen property in their vehicle.
A man called police early Saturday after seeing some people going through his vehicle, which was parked in the area of Densmore Road and Thunderbird Boulevard, said Officer Katie Flood. The caller saw the suspects flee in a white Ford Explorer and was able to give a license plate number.
At 4:40 a.m. an officer stopped a white Ford Explorer in the area of 27th and Van Dorn streets, said Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner. When the Explorer pulled over, several people fled from it.
A 17-year-old boy was caught a short time later, Wagner said. Meanwhile, the driver, Joseph Elekes, 18, was ordered out of the Explorer.
Police are still looking for two other suspects who fled from the vehicle, Flood said.
Upon searching the Explorer, authorities found some items that appeared to have been stolen from vehicles in Lincoln and Roca, Wagner said.
Property recovered from the Explorer included a bow and arrows, a camouflage backpack, a GPS navigation unit and wireless Internet card, a pool cue, a Toshiba laptop and two briefcases, Wagner said.
Elekes and the 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of theft by receiving stolen property, Wagner said.
