A state agency that keeps track of spending by public colleges and universities will consider the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s request to use state money to maintain part of the South Stadium Office Building.

The operation of the building used to be paid for by the athletic department. But now, parts of the building are used by the Computer Science and Engineering Department.

The Coordination Commission for Postsecondary Education will consider the request at its meeting Thursday.

According to its Web site, the commission is a state agency whose mission is to balance the best interests of taxpayers, students and the state’s public colleges and universities.
