Police cited a 17-year-old on suspicion of vandalism after he allegedly tackled an inflatable Frosty the Snowman lawn ornament Friday night.
A witness saw the teen tackle the lawn ornament on the 3400 block of South 75th Street at about 9 p.m. Friday, and got the license plate number of the vehicle he left in, Assistant Lincoln Police Chief Jim Peschong said.
When officers contacted the teen, he told them he was “reindeer hunting,” or tackling lawn ornaments for fun, Peschong said.
Frosty sustained about $50 damage in the incident.
Police are investigating two similar incidents in the same neighborhood: an inflatable Santa Claus that was popped, causing about $20 damage, and another Santa that sustained about $100 damage.
