Lincoln police arrested two men on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon after a mail carrier alerted police that he could smell marijuana burning in the 1200 block of Rose Street.
Two motorcycle officers went to the area at 2 p.m. Tuesday and saw three men sitting in a vehicle, with the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, said Capt. David Beggs.
The three jumped out of the vehicle, and the officers found a bag of marijuana and a loaded 9-mm semiautomatic between the front seats, he said. The men were taken into the police station, and one was found to have an unloaded .22-caliber semiautomatic, he said.
William B. Jordan, 24, 101 S. 26th St., was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and cited for possession of marijuana.
Shun McCree, 27, 1618 S. 14th St., was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon.
The other man was released, Beggs said.
