State authorities believe a 54-year-old Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services employee helped her husband hide after he escaped from the Community Corrections Center.
The escapee, 44-year-old Marvin Brown, was arrested at the couple’s apartment at 45th and Calvert streets Thursday evening.
He had been serving time for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver when he fled the Corrections Center Nov. 5, according to the State Patrol.
Investigators found out Brown made a phone call to his wife, Patricia Brown, at the Nebraska State Office Building Thursday before his arrest, said State Patrol spokesperson Deb Collins.
Using that information, a State Patrol trooper went to the couple’s apartment and arrested Marvin Brown without incident.
Patricia Brown was cited on suspicion of aiding and abetting an escapee and harboring a fugitive. Saturday afternoon, Marvin Brown was being held at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center.
