Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old Lincoln man this week.

Tobin “Toby” Jiskra’s girlfriend found him dead Wednesday just after 1:30 p.m. in the home where he lived with his father in the 2100 block of Preamble Court.

“It’s really a mystery right now,” Officer Katie Flood said.

An autopsy is set for Monday to help police determine the cause and manner of his death.

Flood said Jiskra had made plans Tuesday with his girlfriend to come over to wrap Christmas presents the next day — Christmas Eve.

When she got there, he was on the living room floor.

Jiskra’s father was out of town.

Flood said there was no indication of foul play, but police investigators processed the scene as they would in a suspicious death because it was an unattended death.

There was no sign of entry into the home or any sign of trauma to his body, she said.

Jiskra had been drinking Tuesday night, Flood said, but it didn’t appear to have been the cause of his death. Nor did his death appear to be the result of an asthma attack, though he had asthma, Flood said.

In 2007, Jiskra graduated from Southeast Community College with a degree in machine tool technology, according to his Facebook page. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 2004. This summer, Jiskra raced at Wavelink Raceway Park near Waverly.
