Police say a person pulled a gun on a Lincoln man early Friday after the victim interfered with people knocking over trash cans behind his residence.

The victim told officers he woke up to the sound of trash cans being knocked over in the alley from Ninth and 10th streets south of Rose Street just after 1 a.m.

He confronted three young people in dark clothing walking down the alley, Lincoln Police Capt. Anthony Butler said. One of them pulled a silver revolver out of his pocket, threatening the victim, Butler said.

The victim yelled to his wife to call the police, and the people ran south on Ninth Street. They were all described as between 17 and 19 years old.

Police had no suspects Friday evening, Butler said.
