A cold beer may go down smooth watching a Lincoln Saltdogs game, but if you're younger than 21 be warned: Lincoln police are watching.
So far this season, they've investigated a dozen MIP or procuring cases at Haymarket Park, Officer Katie Flood said.
Four tickets came during Friday night's game.
Flood said Justin Sievers, 19, was cited for sneaking drinks from his mom's beer without her permission.
The same night, Flood alleged, Joshua Hudson, 21, bought two beers and headed to the east garden seats, where he passed one to his 19-year-old girlfriend.
Flood said Michelle Oswald took a drink, then passed it to her mom, Mary Oswald, who took a drink of the beer and allegedly passed it back to her daughter.
As police watched, Flood said, the teenager sipped again.
An officer ticketed Hudson and Mary Oswald on suspicion of procuring alcohol for a minor and ticketed the teen for MIP.
On June 10, Flood said, police ticketed Omaha mom Joann Schaible for buying a cup of beer and allegedly letting her son Christopher, 20, drink from it.
Police believe she bought it because he needed a sip to go with his nachos.
