The Fallbrook community will celebrate its second annual Autumn Fest on Saturday with a full day of family-friendly activities including games, contests, hay rack rides, entertainment and a neighborhood Husker tailgate.

The celebration will also include the opening of the Fallbrook Town Square at 570 Fallbrook Blvd.

The day kicks off with NOAH’s Assistance Dogs annual Dog and Jog, featuring a 5k competitive race, a 1-mile family fun walk, a children’s pet parade and canine contests and demonstrations.

The Town Square will be dedicated with a 9:30 a.m. ribbon cutting by Mayor Chris Beutler and other dignitaries.

From noon to 4 p.m., the Word of Life Church will host an Auto Show and Shine featuring local hot rods and classic cars.

The YMCA will offer face painting and run the obstacle course and speed pitch provided by the Lincoln Saltdogs.

The Fallbrook Homeowners Association will provide food and beverages and run midway-style games, pumpkin painting and hayrack rides. The association also will run a food drive benefitting the People’s City Mission, and invites guests to bring non-perishable food items to donate.

The Root 66 Praise Band will perform at an afternoon tailgate sponsored by Time Warner and Schaefer’s. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to use while cheering on the Huskers and enjoying the music.

Visitors can also tour five homes on the Home Builder Association of Lincoln’s Fall Parade of Homes, all within walking distance of the Town Square. The Lincoln Park at 359 Bushclover Road was featured in the Lincoln Journal Star’s Ultimate Home Delivery and can be viewed from 1 to 6 p.m.

The evening culminates with the Fallbrook Art Show featuring the work of 13 local artisans and benefitting Lincoln Citizen Advocacy Inc. The work will be shown in two Fallbrook homes.

Fallbrook is at the intersection of U.S. 34 and North First Street.
