Driver who hit two cars after short police pursuit in fair condition.
The man Lincoln police say fled from an officer Friday night and then got into an accident with two other vehicles is in fair condition.
Vance Dolberg, 47, was headed west on Nebraska 2 in a black 1982 Camaro just after 8 Friday night when an officer saw him spinning his tires at the intersection of Nebraska 2 and 40th Street, Police Capt. Kim Koluch said Saturday.
The officer pulled Dolberg over, then told him to move to a safer location, Police Capt. Anthony Butler said Friday night. As the officer returned to the cruiser to follow him, the driver took off, Butler said.
Seven blocks to the west, Dolberg collided with a 1998 Honda CR-V facing east in the left turn lane at 33rd Street.
Bonnie Brown, 65, Lincoln was driving the CR-V. She was listed in fair condition at BryanLGH Medical Center West on Saturday.
After hitting Brown's SUV, the Camaro bounced into oncoming traffic and hit a 1997 Honda Civic driven by Kelsey Kamrath, 21, of Lincoln. Koluch said Kamrath was not injured.
According to the accident report, Dolberg ran the red light at 33rd and Nebraska 2 and was driving 70 to 80 mph when he hit Brown.
Koluch said police plan to arrest him upon his release from the hospital on suspicion of reckless driving and fleeing to avoid arrest.
