David R. Dillon, 48, of Eagle was killed Sunday night in a motorcycle accident in Murdock, and authorities believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
The Cass County sheriff's office said the accident happened about 8 p.m. Dillon lost control of his bike south of Murdock while driving southbound on state Highway 1.
Dillon lost control of a 2000 Harley Davidson, which traveled on the shoulder of the highway before entering the west ditch. Dillon was thrown from the bike.
According to the sheriff's office, Dillon was wearing a helmet that did not appear to be certified by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Alcohol and speed are also believed to have been factors in the accident, according to the report.
