Two roommates were jailed and their neighbor cited after a disturbance at their apartment building Sunday afternoon.

Abdeomonim N. Ali, 20, said that as he left his apartment at 4800 N. 15th St. around 2:30 p.m., his neighbor Spencer Jay Workman, 19, told him to watch his back, said Officer Katie Flood.

The men have an ongoing feud with each other.

Ali told police Workman got in his car and followed him to a convenience store, Flood said. When they were stopped at a traffic light, Ali said Workman pulled up next to him and swung a chain at his purple 1994 Lincoln Town Car, causing about $100 damage.

Police were called to the residence around 3 p.m., after Ali and his roommate, Mohammed Nadeem, 22, allegedly broke into Workman's place, Flood said.

Nadeem allegedly swung a metal rod at Workman, who locked himself in his bedroom, Flood said. Workman told police Nadeem tried stabbing the door with the rod and destroyed a TV and other items, causing about $2,500 damage.

Workman said he heard his sister and became worried, so he came out of his bedroom, Flood said. His neighbors allegedly hit and kicked him several times. His injuries weren't serious.

Flood did not know the extent of Workman's sister's involvement in the incident.

Nadeem was jailed on suspicion of attempted second-degree assault, burglary and criminal mischief, Flood said. Ali was jailed on suspicion of third-degree assault, vandalism and trespassing. Workman was cited on suspicion of vandalism.
