A 25-year-old drunken driver ended up taking out the gate to the city landfill early Friday, police say.
Derek Landers was cited on suspicion of DUI after he called 911 saying he had gotten lost.
Police say that Landers had crashed through the gates of the landfill on North 48th Street at 1:44 a.m. and continued on for about a half a mile through the landfill with the gate on his vehicle before he called police.
Capt. Doug Srb said Landers' blood alcohol level tested .17, more than twice the legal limit.
