A Lincoln man who had taken a cocktail of drugs and then slammed his vehicle into another motorist’s car was sentenced Monday to three to four years in prison.

Jeremy Forsgren, 29, had taken a mixture of marijuana, Valium, Ecstasy, and LSD before he collided into the rear of a car driven by a 27-year-old man. The man suffered serious head injuries.

Witnesses told police Forsgren was driving around 70 mph as he drove his car north on 10th Street. The collision occurred near Peach Street on Sept. 5. Forsgren reportedly struggled with police at the scene and kicked out a police cruiser window after authorities handcuffed him.

Lancaster County District Judge Jeffre Cheuvront Monday gave Forsgren credit for 37 days he has already spent in jail.
