Some services at the Lincoln City Libraries, especially remote services, will not be available as the libraries' computer system is updated Monday through May 8.

New servers for the integrated library system will be installed and data will be transferred during the week.

Library users will be able to check out items and reserve Internet computers, but must be in the library and have their library cards with them.

The online catalog will not be available, but staff will be available to help library users.

Patrons will not be able to renew items previously checked out. The library has adjusted all due dates so no items are due for return during this period.

Other services that will be temporarily unavailable include placing holds on books, courtesy notices, downloadable audio books and remote access to databases.

"We realize this will inconvenience some of our customers and thank them for their patience," Library Director Pat Leach said in a news release. "This project demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that information is secure and that our equipment is dependable."
