Forecasters say today will be mostly sunny, with flooding continuing along the Missouri River.

Expect the clouds to part today, as forecasters are predicting a mostly sunny Tuesday, with a high near 63 and a west southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph.

Flooding along the Missouri River will continue today southward from Brownville in Nemaha County, said Van DeWald, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Valley.

The flood warning for portions of southeast Nebraska could continue through Tuesday afternoon, DeWald said.

Forecasters say tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 53 and a southeast wind between 6 and 10 mph. There’s a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 a.m.

Wednesday will see occasional showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., and a high near 68.

Thursday looks windy, with a north northwest wind between 16 and 26 mph and gusts as high as 34 mph. There’s a chance of showers, with a high near 61.

Friday’s forecast is mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

The forecast for the weekend is sunny, with a high near 75 on Saturday, cooling down to a high near 67 on Sunday.

There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday night and into Monday.
