To celebrate students' pledge to stay drug and alcohol free, the Lincoln Council on Alcoholism and Drugs will host a skate party for hundreds of area elementary youth at The Skate Zone on Nov. 2.
Kindergarten through second-grade students will skate from 5 to 7 p.m., while third- through fifth-graders will skate from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $1, with an additional $3 charge for in-line skate rental.
Also as part of Red Ribbon Week, celebrated by schools during October, nearly 30,000 red ribbons will be distributed to students and staff.
