Lincolnite Katie Anderson didn't know the show "Let's Make a Deal" existed until she became a contestant.

On Vegas vacation with her mom and best friend, the 21-year-old University of Nebraska-Lincoln student was dragged along to the game show.

On "Let's Make a Deal," audience members dress in wacky costumes and are chosen at random to make deals with the host.

"Yeah," Anderson said, "nobody told me about the costumes."

When she finally got called to haggle with the host, Wayne Brady, all her play plans dissolved.

"In my mind, I was thinking I was going to do one thing," she said. "And with the crowd talking to me, I did the opposite."

So how did she make out?

Well, you'll have to watch. But, she said, "Overall, it was exciting. The whole process was great."

Anderson is only a little nervous about her friends and family seeing Wednesday's show.

"The wig I'm wearing," she said, "is kind of embarrassing."
