Fireworks: They're neat.

The city of Lincoln will launch its annual fireworks extravaganza Friday night at Oak Lake Park. And on Saturday, look for more from Larry the Cable Guy's big Memorial Stadium party and the Saltdogs' game at Haymarket Park.

Last week we asked you, trusted reader, to name the best places to watch the explosions in the sky.

Here were a few suggested vantage points. But please, don't trespass.

* By the Country Club, 3200 S. 24th St. It's a private golf course, but you can pull up a chair on South 27th Street.

* On top of the parking garages in downtown Lincoln.

* From Tanker Hill (a.k.a. Arnold Heights Park), Northwest 54th and West Superior streets. It offers a good view of Lincoln's displays, as well some of the other towns'.

* From a boat on Capitol Beach.

* From the heliport on BryanLGH West (this reader said he had an in with someone who works there; you probably don't).
