The holiday season may still feel far off. But it’s never too early to mail holiday cards and packages heading overseas.
The U.S. Postal Service offers a range of express delivery options for letters and packages. Here are their deadlines:
— To Africa and Central and South America: Global Airmail Letters, Cards and Parcel Post: Dec. 4
— To Mexico: Global Airmail Letters, Cards and Parcel Post: Dec. 4
Global Economy (surface): Monday
—To Asia/Pacific Rim, Australia/New Zealand, the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East: Global Airmail Letters, Cards and Parcel Post: Dec. 11
— To Canada: Global Airmail Letters, Cards and Parcel Post: Dec. 11
Global Economy (surface): Nov. 27
International mail can be sent as late as Dec. 16 at a cost of around $25. Express mail sent to Canada can be mailed Dec. 18.
And for all those Christmas cards and packages you’re sending in the United States, the post office recommends getting them out by Dec. 20.
