OMAHA — Omaha-based ConAgra Foods turned to another Omaha company to recruit a new member of its board recently.

ConAgra announced that First National Bank of Omaha President Rajive Johri will join the food company’s board Jan. 1.

The appointment will increase the size of ConAgra’s board to nine people.

ConAgra’s board chairman Steven Goldstone says he’s glad Johri is joining the board because he is a proven leader.

Johri has led First National since 2006. He was promoted after running First National’s credit card division.

Johri also has 21 years of experience with JP Morgan Chase and Citigroup. Johri led marketing and strategy for 25 million customers with about $52 billion of loans at Chase.

" 21 years experience at two companies that are currently being bailed out by taxpayers. Thats less than steller qualifications! "

" And excatly why did they need to grow the board of directors? Is there such complex business that the previous members couldn't handle it? I hardly think that because most boards conduct a marginal amount of business that is required by law and then collect high fees. "
