Prairie Wolves hold off Dana in OT

Dylan Aylward scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Tuesday to lead Nebraska Wesleyan to a 72-70 overtime win against Dana in Blair.

Dana’s Doug Huston sent the game into overtime, connecting on a three-point goal with no time remaining in the game. It was Huston’s fourth attempt from beyond the arc, but the only one he made.

Dana scored four straight points to open the overtime before Wesleyan came back.

Bellevue edges Doane in NAIA volleyball

Bellevue opened play in the NAIA national volleyball tournament with a 23-25, 25-23, 25-14, 19-25, 15-10 win over Doane on Tuesday in Sioux City, Iowa.

Maureen Wardian and Kali Schnacker led Bellevue with 16 kills. For Doane, Chelsee Marvin had 18 kills.

With the win, Bellevue took a step toward advancing to bracket play beginning Friday. The top two teams from each four-team pool will advance.

Next up for the Bruins is a match with Vanguard, Calif., on Wednesday. Doane faces Lindenwood (Missouri).

Brandon Arp had 18 points and five steals for NWU, while Jake Brandl and Jon Person each had 13 for Dana.
