Gering woman accused of embezzlement
By The Associated Press
ALLIANCE — A 40-year-old Gering woman accused of embezzling more than $50,000 from the Potato Certification Association of Nebraska in Alliance has been charged with theft.
Authorities say Teresa Clark stole the money between November 2005 and this November while working for the association. Investigators believe Clark received cash advances in salary and transferred the amount into the association’s general accounts receivable.
Clark is free on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Box Butte County Court for Dec. 1.
Clark is not the Teresa Clark who is president of the Scottsbluff Library Board and a marketing representative for Regional West Medical Center.
