Clothing giveaway Saturday at Malone
Men who wish to “dress to impress” but cannot necessarily afford the attire will find plenty of suits, shirts and accessories to choose from at today’s Men’s Clothing GiveAway.
The giveaway will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Clyde Malone Community Center, 20th and U streets. The event is hosted by Encouragement Unlimited Inc.
Items were donated through the Men’s Wearhouse’s annual National Suit Drive Campaign earlier this fall.
In addition, the community is invited to stop by the Malone Center between 1 and 4 p.m. today for a free Thanksgiving meal. The meal is a joint effort of Angelic Temple, Abiding Grace and Christ Temple churches, as well as the Malone Center.
Concert Saturday benefits Relay for Life
Lincoln a cappella group No Better Cause performs tonight in a benefit concert for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Concert time is 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 84th Street and Pioneers Boulevard. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with a silent auction at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family.
New donation drop-off location for Mission
Because of construction on the Antelope Valley project, the People’s City Mission temporarily has changed its donation drop-off site.
Donations may now be taken to the Mission at 110 Q St. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
The People’s City Mission’s Distribution Center at 21st and N streets remains open. However, street access and parking are limited because of the construction.
Donations to the mission will be accepted at the 110 Q St. location through the end of the year.
