OMAHA — An 85-year-old man is ticketed for shoplifting three pieces of candy.

Police say the man was seen taking three pieces of loose candy on Nov. 6 at an Omaha grocery store.

The value of the candy is 25 cents.

Store management told police the man regularly swipes candy from the display. They say they’ve told the man repeatedly he is stealing, and they would call police if it continued.

" Either the suspect/perp has nothing better to do than to get a few thrills from swiping candy or he has a need for sweets like a diabetic person. Guess he took one trip too many to the candy jar and got his hand caught!! Some kids see that, next thing you know, you have kids free-loading their pockets with sweets. Hope parents would point this out to their kids and remind them to pay for their candy. LJK. "
