State Farm raising Nebraska auto rates
By The Lincoln Journal Star
State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, the largest insurer of autos in Nebraska and in the nation, said it is raising its ratesin Nebraska an average of 2.3 percent effective Dec. 15.
Even after the rate change, State Farm’s overall rate level in Nebraska will be 14.3 percent lower than it was five years ago, the company said.
The cost of liability, medical payments and comprehensive coverages are all increasing, State Farm said, but the price of collision coverage remains unchanged.
Premium changes for individual motorists will vary depending on the coverages they carry, the discounts for which they qualify, where they live, the kind of car insured, who drives it and how much it is driven.
About one in every four cars insured in Nebraska is insured by State Farm, the insurer said.
