Lines form outside Omaha polling places
By the Associated Press
OMAHA — Voters are lining up outside Omaha polling places.
Lines of people can be seen snaking outside polling place doors in the city. In fact, Republican Senate candidate Mike Johanns and his wife, Stephanie, waited in line more than an hour Tuesday morning to vote at Omaha's downtown library.
Johanns, a former governor of Nebraska and former U.S. agriculture secretary to President Bush, is running against Democrat Scott Kleeb (KLEB) to replace outgoing Sen. Chuck Hagel, a Republican. Also running are Green Party candidate Steve Larrick and the Nebraska Party's Kelly Renee Rosberg.
Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale is advising voters to avoid peak hours, such as lunch time, when heading to the polls.
